All measurements should be taken directly on the body or over a lightweight, close-fitting top. Your posture should be natural and relaxed and the tape measure should lie snugly against your skin, but not digging in. Also take care that the tape doesn’t slip down, but stays in the correct position parallel to the floor, while measuring.
I would recommend putting a ribbon or tape around your waist, to mark the waistline while taking the other measurements.
Bust – this is the fullest part of your bust. Keep your arms by your sides.
Underbust – this is underneath your breasts, where the band of your bra lies.
Waist – this is the smallest part of your torso, below your rib cage and above your hipbones. If you bend side-to-side it is usually where the crease appears.
High hip – take this measurement below your waistline. Measure around your hips, 10cm / 4inches below your waist.
Hips – this is the fullest part of your hips. Stand straight with your legs together and find the largest part between your high hips and thighs.
Waist to underbust – measure from the waistline upwards to where your breasts / bra cups start.
Waist to bottom edge center front – measure from your waistline downwards to where you want the corset to end in the center front.
Waist to bottom edge side – measure from your waistline downwards to where you want your corset to end at the side.
